HAQUOSS H16 - PLANARIA FLAT WORMS

HAQUOSS H16 - PLANARIA FLAT WORMS

Planarians are small worms, typically up to 10mm in length, belonging to the Platyhelminthes phylum. These flatworms can be a significant concern in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums, potentially causing harm if not promptly eradicated. They are hermaphroditic and reproduce rapidly through eggs. While not parasitic, they can quickly infest sand, plants, rocks, and invertebrates, attaching themselves to glass, live rocks, and corals if left unchecked.

Due to their nocturnal nature, their presence in your aquarium may go unnoticed until their population significantly increases. A large and rapidly reproducing planarian population can become a serious problem for your fish and even impact your filtration system.

In freshwater environments, planarians commonly target shrimp, weaker fish, fry, and eggs. In marine setups, certain flat planarian species can pose a threat to all aquatic life present. HAQUOSS H16 is formulated to be harmless to fish, plants, invertebrates, and corals.

Important Considerations
Invertebrates, snails, and crustaceans are sensitive to this product.
Darken your aquarium during treatment.

Dosage and Application
Administer HAQUOSS H16 only once.

Preparation:
If present, suspend activated carbon filtration.
For marine aquariums, suspend your skimmer and calcium reactor (if present).
For freshwater aquariums, suspend CO2 supply (if present).

Mixing: Using the supplied transparent cylinder, add five level teaspoons of HAQUOSS H16 for every 100 liters of water to be treated. Mix thoroughly with aquarium water and shake well for a few seconds until the solution is fully dissolved.

Application: Empty the contents into your aquarium near the recirculation pump outlet. If treating, for example, 200 liters of water, repeat the mixing and application process twice.

Post-Treatment Care (Day 1-2): Insert Haquoss PHOSPHATOR into your filter. This is crucial as dying planarians can increase phosphate levels in your aquarium, depending on the initial population size. Over the next two days, planarians will begin to die. You will need to remove them using a net, inserting white fiber inside it to effectively capture dead worms and eggs from the surface.

Post-Treatment Care (After 2 Days): Reactivate all suspended systems (activated carbon, skimmer, calcium reactor, CO2). Perform a partial water change of 15-20%. Thoroughly siphon the sand to eliminate any planarians that have settled at the bottom.

For the water change, use Haquoss DM1 CONDITIONER and Haquoss DM2 ALIVE.
